How Traditional Astrology Got It Wrong

tropical sidereal
ABOVE LEFT is the inaccurate Tropical chart for March 2, indicating Pisces. ABOVE RIGHT is the Sidereal chart for the same date, reflecting a more accurate Aquarian orientation of the planets. Notice that the Tropical chart is too far advanced by 24 degrees, pushing the planets into the next sign, otherwise the aspects and house placements are the same.

A TROPICAL TRAVESTY
HOW TROPICAL ASTROLOGERS GOT IT WRONG:
[From a natal reading]
The Tropical system, used by most astrologers, tags your birthday, March 2 as a Pisces, but nothing could be further from the truth. The Sun travels across the constellation of Aquarius from Feb. 14 to March 14. You are an Aquarius in the real Sidereal Universe, not a Pisces as you were told.
Tropical Pisces is way out of line and very misleading for you. From a personality profile, there’s a huge difference: Pisces are in tune with emotions, you Aquarians don’t even factor them in to your arguments. Pisces are water, symbolized by quixotic fish who change direction and live in a dreamworld; Aquarians are high and dry air, intellectual, opinionated and stubborn. Pisces is water; you have NO water in your chart, you’re all air and fire, there is no trace of the Piscean “power of submission” in your chart. That’s like a shark masquerading as a minnow. For you to have been identified by Tropical astrologers as a Pisces is a fabrication and egregious error. Astrology has completely failed you in its attempt to connect you with the correct archetype.

Your real chart is not a placid Pisces lake; It’s a swirling tornado, a storm with roiling clouds that can block out the sun. You are an Aquarius par excellence. Calling you a porous Pisces is like baying in the wind. Instead of a stellium of Planets in Pisces, as your Tropical chart would indicate, you actually have those five planets in Aquarius. Only Aquarius can explain and encompass your peculiarities, originality and refusal to go with the flow.

Your planetary aspects are all FIRE, not water. The private half of your Aquarius-Leo opposition is the other great astrological influence on your life. Mars, Pluto and Neptune are in the Sidereal sign of Leo. Think of a cross between an eagle and lion for a visual. You have the chart of an imperious ruler, a scientific and argumentative mind; you’re dogmatic and dominant in your relationships, you have the desires of a caged beast, and buried within are the feral fears and fury of a hunted animal.
The three Aquarius planets in conjunction, Venus, Moon and Saturn, make your relationships complex. You offer an array of talents to your mate, like a peacock, but there is no emotional content there. Your emotional vulnerability would be wounded only by loss of money or status. You have a defense system instead of feelings, and it’s always in play, controlling your responses and possibly making you feel unloved, but without the “female” remedy of surrender. You, Aquarius, never ever surrender.

Pluto is your motivating planet, the one that made you embark on your wild journey. Your future is drawn from the depths of Pluto’s underworld domain of taboo and tribulation. Pluto conjunct Uranus is the mark of the revolutionary, freedom or death! Though your life may be a series of eruptions and upheavals, this type of challenge is ultimately exhilarating for you. Your key planet is Pluto, since it is the bass beat to your melody.

Pluto changed signs from Scorpio to Sagittarius in 2006. This year was a turning point for you. When Pluto was in Scorpio you were discovering the hidden truths about yourself and your world. No secret was sacred. Now, with Pluto in Sagittarius, it’s like a bomb going off; Pluto wants to explode and destroy convention. And yet this Pluto also wants the higher refinements of life; not just the base physical needs, but the spiritual and mental culture that makes a life worth living. This Pluto has made you even more determined to be independent. Freedom of self-expression is all-important, you may have to sacrifice your security and peace of mind to have it. Pluto in Sagittarius is an opportunity to explore your inner self and eradicate the old emotional patterns that are making you weak and miserable.
